So this is what my beautiful daughter said about me on Facebook for Fathers Day.

Parenthood is fricking hard---really hard. Physically when they are little, mentally when they are not little.

You are in a constant state of fear wondering if you're doing it right, wrong, how your kid will turn out, etc.

You do your best and hope for the best.

What she wrote took the breath out of me.... my hope has become reality and it's awesome.

"I know this is a little late but I just wanna say happy Father's Day to the best dad ever. I know everyone thinks that their dad is the best but clearly they are wrong.

From when I was as young as in this picture my dad has taught me to regard everyone with an open mind and an open heart. I've never met someone as open as him when it comes to meeting new people. He truly loves everyone.

It was really cool to grow up in such an open minded household where race and sexuality never were thought about rather it only mattered if they were a good person.

My dad also is the biggest supporter of everyone's passions. Which is incredible for a parent to be. I'm sure all his Facebook friends see him posting about our achievements. I swear I could get a ten cent raise at work and he'd probably post about it.

Not only is he proud of all of his children's accomplishments he supports our passions. I remember when I was little he would take me to Barnes and noble once, sometimes twice a week to buy a new book. We'd stay there for hours and he'd be patient and just let me explore almost every book there. Now that I'm interested in writing all he wants me to do is pursue it. It's weird to see someone believe in you so much even if it is your father.

If any of you really know my father he's probably the biggest liberal you've ever met. And then I was born to take his place. No but for real, it's cool that one of the biggest feminists I know is my own father. I swear it wouldn't surprise me if my dad whispered break that glass ceiling into my crib every night while tucking me in.

My dad is really cool he's one of my biggest supporters and I owe him the world for that. I'm really lucky. I love u dad.
