Cat saves owner's life by detecting she had breast cancer TWICE

Source: Daily Mirror

Angela Tinning knew something was wrong when her normally aloof moggy Missy started showing her affection

Angela Tinning knew there was something wrong when her normally aloof moggy Missy suddenly started bombarding her with attention and pawing at her breasts.

She said: “If it wasn’t for her I’d never have caught it so early and I might not be here today.”

Angela had ignored Missy until she knocked her breast, causing her pain – and she went to her GP.

The doctor found pre-cancerous cells that would not have showed up on a mammogram.

Finance officer Angela, 43, of Newcastle, was given the all clear in 2013, but three years later, Missy started playing up again. Angela went straight back to the doctor and found the cells had returned.

She is now being treated and says Missy has saved her.

Now Missy is up for a Cats Protection Hero Cat Award.

Missy from Newcastle

Angela Tinning knew something must be wrong when her loyal puss Missy began acting strangely earlier this year.

Back in February 2013 Missy had behaved in the same erratic manner, pawing at her chest and becoming agitated. That time, the behaviour had been so unusual it had prompted Angela to seek medical attention for what turned out to be pre-cancerous cells. So when Missy began behaving the same way three years later, Angela wasted no time in getting herself checked – and again, more pre-cancerous cells were found.

Angela said: “I felt fine and I honestly don’t think I would have got it checked out if she hadn’t drawn my attention to it. If it weren’t for her, my story could be very different today. She is my little hero.”

I know it's time to check myself for a kidney infection. She's always a very sweet and affectionate cat, but most of the time she lets her father sleep with me at night - unless I'm ill.

When I was recovering from an MRSA infection in my leg last year and had to sleep in the recliner for a month, I had all five cats on me, but I think that's because I was immobile and they could be petted non-stop

She's a real hero, saving the life of her mommy by being a feline early cancer detector. Squeee!
