Trump's mom, of course, is Scottish, but he even lied about her age, where she landed in the US, and what the reasons for her coming here in the first place were.
I know this thanks to a thread started by Cali earlier today, linking a story by this guy, who really nails the toupee to the thrawn: Lesley Riddoch
with a kudos to cali for providing this:

there's an active protest being planned, as well:

Keir McKechnie, an activist for the Stand Up to Racism group, told BuzzFeed News he expects a diverse group of trade unionists, students, and representatives from Scottish mosques to protest against Trumps visit.
Trump is not welcome in Scotland and his racist toxic poison is not welcome, said McKechnie. His message of hate is one that well challenge and we would not encourage anyone to support him in his presidency.
Also, although this protest happens to be taking place in Scotland, we want to represent people across the whole of the UK who reject Trumps racism and Islamophobia.
Stand Up to Racism, which held large anti-racism rallies throughout the UK earlier this year, will be putting on buses from Glasgow city centre on the day Trump arrives in Scotland to make sure as many as possible can voice their anger at the presidential nominee.
welcome to your homeland. ye are the laird of all that ye see! problem is, almost all the crofters hate your guts, just like everywhere that you go. enjoy yourself

(7,222 posts)Given the vast number of outside broadcast units shown camped out at Turnberry on the TV news this evening, I'd guess there'll be plenty of TV coverage.
If you want to know more about Trump's mother's entry to the US, here's a Good Reads post of mine from a month ago: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1016157703

(7,222 posts)She's probably suffered from confusion due to it herself in her time.
She's a pretty cool pundit on all sorts of issues, a level-headed and incisive voice on Scottish independence etc., for instance.
Yeah, we generally haven't had much time for Trump anyway, though locals near the course will obviously defend him to an extent because it's an area that's very short of jobs and investment. He's the epitome of the Ugly American, and his long-term bullying of folks living around his Aberdeenshire golf development makes him about as popular in Scotland as a whole as you'd expect.
One thing that may get lost in the media coverage of this morning's grand opening is that he screwed over Trump Turnberry (a hideous, ostentatious mega-development plonked out of place on some lovely coastline even before he got his little paws on it, if you've ever driven past it) with his xenophobic rhetoric by ensuring that the new course won't be on the Open circuit: Donald Trump's Turnberry golf club to no longer host The Open tournament amid anger over controversial remarks.
The advance plans for the protest sound pretty good-natured - a mariachi band of Ayrshire Mexicans etc. I hope anger after last night's referendum result doesn't take over and make for ugly scenes. Folks might get hurt, and it'd play right into his hands.

(7,222 posts)No, I haven't seen Trump's Twitter feed today. I've been a little ... distracted. Has Baxter released a new documentary? Good timing.
"let's hope he gets unhinged" - I think that boat sailed quite some time back!
