(115,669 posts)I think there will be a shakeup of the U.S. markets for the next few weeks and then they will stabilize. The process of decoupling Britain from the EU will be long and complex and will be disruptive for Britain, but much less so for us. Those who voted in favor of it will soon see some unintended consequences and might regret their votes, and we in the US will see those problems developing as well. I hardly think the complications that will ensue are going to favor Trump.

(3,580 posts)It won't happen overnight and every few weeks something will derail moving forward in unexpected ways.

(587 posts)is Obama's policies.
It was a mistake for Obama to go there and give his opinion - it did more harm than good, IMO. But I can tell you nobody was thinking about Obama or his policies when they chose their stance on Brexit.
The election is far enough away and Brexit is a multi-year process so there wil be a short-term minor dip in financial markets and we'll recover from that (and more) long before people are going to the polls.
