...because it reminds people that everything they're fighting for now will be called evil, bigoted, racist, and horrible in thirty years.

The timing is pretty dangerous to be breaking that one out now, so I wager the intent is to push for 'another vote' because 'the youth should have a say'. It's the only good explanation for breaking out the tacnuke response this early.
