51% to 39%....support for trump plunges

[IMG][/IMG]

Donald Trump's Poll Numbers Collapse as General Election Looms

The bottom is dropping out for Donald Trump.
While Trump was never popular outside of his loyal slice of GOP voters, a raft of new polls show his national position hitting new lows, including with groups that are supposed to form his base.

America's widespread loathing for Trump puts further pressure on Republican delegates to deny him the nomination in July if he falls short of a majority, a move that would set off an ugly civil war but that some in the party believe would be necessary to stave off generational damage.

A collection of recent surveys by Real Clear Politics finds, on average, 30 percent of respondents hold a favorable view of Trump versus 63 percent who hold a negative one. Those numbers are roughly parallel to former President George W. Bush's approval ratings during his final months in office, which set the stage for President Barack Obama's landslide victory.

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton leads Trump by double digits in at least six national polls in March, even as her own favorability ratings appear weak. Using 2008 as a reference point again, Obama's popular vote margin against Sen. John McCain was just more than 7 percent.

Whatever percentage of the popular vote goes to Donny Dump is that percentage.

It would not surprise me one bit if the Libertarian ticket is second in the popular vote.

This is proportion of people who still supported Bush at the end, and it's proportion who is steadfastly wrong on pretty much every major issue.

Trump's floor will be in that range.

While the movers and shakers don't really mind losing to Clinton (assuming she's a clone of her husband, which she might not be), they don't want to be utterly humiliated and they don't want Republicans to get used to the idea of finding a conservative Democrat acceptable over any Republican, no matter how insane.

In addition, as his numbers drop, expect Cheeto Jebus to get a little desperate around the edges and start to crack.

Donald Trump apparently never watched “Braveheart”. Trump managed to get the Scottish so riled up and pissed off that he became the most hated man in Scotland. Polls showed Donald Trump ranked higher than Edward Longshanks as the most hated man in Scottish history.

I was disappointed there wasn't any sort of organized demonstration, but he kept himself on his own leveraged property, I'm guessing, so it would've been hard to get any groups in.

I was sad he didn't get as much play as, say, that clown who insinuated he was an insider Secret Service agent, who wrote the Jerome Corsi-like book that just came out. they ran a pretty long segment on it at CNN

the only real polling that matters, if any, this early, are the five to ten states which are crucial to both campaigns:

Ohio
PA
FLA
Iowa
Colo
WI
MI
VA
NH

there are others, like AZ, and even Utah or TX that supposedly could provide surprises (I HOPE!!!), but the above listed states are the ones that will decide the election, if Doncon can keep it close

"The survey of 1,001 randomly selected adults found a slight uptick in the share of people who identify as Democrats, from 33 percent in May’s poll to 36 percent this month. Self-described Republicans accounted for 24 percent of those polled this month, ticking down from 25 percent in May, while independents made up 33 percent."

Current polling reported June 26:

NBC/WSJ Poll: Clinton Leads Trump By 5 Points

Forty-six percent of registered voters back Clinton, versus 41 percent who support Trump — slightly up from Clinton's three-point lead in May, 46 percent to 43 percent.

When the horse race is expanded to four candidates — including Libertarian Gary Johnson and the Green Party's Jill Stein — Clinton gets support from 39 percent of voters, Trump gets 38 percent, Johnson 10 percent and Stein 6 percent.

The NBC/WSJ poll — conducted June 19-23 — comes after Clinton clinched the number of delegates needed to become the Democratic Party's presumptive nominee; after the tragic June 12 Orlando, Florida, shootings; and after a rough three-week stretch for Trump's campaign.

Despite these events and changes, the Clinton-vs.-Trump horse race remains relatively consistent.
