(5,762 posts)Now...if the Senate would do its fucking job, we wouldn't have to worry (as much) about this crap. I devoutly hope that President HRC puts up a nominee so odious to the soon-to-be minority GOP Senate that they will have a collective brain aneurysm.
Is it against TOS to hope that Thomas gets pecked to death by rabid zombie chickens?

(40,416 posts)Have at it, Hoss!
And don't get me started about numerous and various parasites (or Moray eels) with regards to Justice Thomas.
These are pleasant dreams of mine. Sadly unfulfilled.

(5,762 posts)I'm thinking of that nasty one that swims up your no-no part...or the one that gives you elephant feet...or the one...
Forget it. Just dump them in the Amazon rain forest. Something will get them. Alito, Thomas, and Roberts couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were printed on the heel.
(No, I'm not from Texas, but I studied it in college).

(40,416 posts)You know, the parasite that infects mice to actually run TO the cat so it can be eaten and complete its life cycle in the cat.
Apparently it is a neuro-parasite that also infects humans.
I want to see Roberts, Alito, and Thomas as frumpy cat women, horribly controlled by toxoplasma gondii so the only thing they can do is to collect more cats, thus propagating the species, hopefully solely along partisan lines.

(23,083 posts)Don't lose hope. I always said Scalia was one of the worst people in the US and that his absence from SCOTUS would be blessing, and after years and years, it finally happened. Not saying I want him to die, just be gone from SCOTUS in whatever form that takes. Not sure who's the worst justice, though, Alito or Thomas? I'd be even happier with either of them gone.

(61,691 posts)She had a urinary catheter and pink supportive sneakers, went on for hours until the deadline passed and the Legislature went out of session. Dumbass Rick Perry had to call a special session to pass this highly restrictive law, requiring clinics have building structure like day surgery centers when most abortions are done by medication.
The court also took issue with changing the requirement of doctors to not just have a referral relationship with a hospital to having admitting privileges. They saw no need for this change.

(24,329 posts)I've read in several places that he was an effective advocate among the more conservative members of the Court
That he was often able to sway opinions to his favor
I'm glad he's gone

(8,687 posts)She started out by asking how many women live more than 100 miles away from a clinic.
When Texas Solicitor General Scott Keller replied that about 25 percent of Texas women are at least that far from a clinic, but said they couldn't be sure since there was a clinic just over the state line in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
Ginsburg observed that this was an "odd" approach since New Mexico definitely doesn't have the same standards that Texas is trying to put in place, according to Slate. So if your argument is right, then New Mexico is not an available way out for Texas, because Texas says: To protect our women, we need these things. But send them off to New Mexico, and thats perfectly all right," she said. "Well, if thats all right for the women in the El Paso area, why isnt it right for the rest of the women in Texas?

(45,408 posts)not bad for a Reagan appointee.
But these types of split votes show the importance of having the 4 Dem appointees. We need more Dem appointees.
Proud Liberal Dem
(24,401 posts)is the Republican Party's worst nightmare, which is why they are bucking tradition, precedent, and common sense in preventing an Obama nominee to replace Scalia to even come up for a hearing (and getting away with it, so far, though I doubt that they will be able to hold off if HRC wins in November). If the rumors are true about Thomas possibly looking to retire soon as well and HRC wins in November, it will literally be trench warfare to confirm his replacement as well. Hopefully, we just win back the Senate in November, then the Republicans won't be able to delay the process anymore once January rolls around.
