Conservative nationalists want to "Make America Great Again", "Make Russia Great Again", "Make China

Great Again", "Make Great Britain Great Again". (Not to mention the old "Make Germany Great Again" and "Make Italy Great Again".)

And they always believe that the rest of the world is out to get them and cannot be trusted. History shows that nationalists find that isolation does not make their country stronger, they don't reconsider their ideas, they lash out at those other countries that must be conspiring to hold them down. Peace does not long survive.

None of them seem to be motivated to make life better for American, Russian, Chinese or British people, just for the image of the nation-state.

the stability of democracies all around the planet.

Populists use their vote as destructively and indiscriminately as the Orlando mass murderer with his Sig Sauer. Right now America's conservative populists can't name their own congressman, but they're trying to give the nuclear codes to Trump to spite the "establishment."
