Oh and our Governor is blaming the Federal Government because he can't take responsibility for the horrible hires in the South Florida Water Management District. All people he hired after FIRING the staff there. He is an abysmal failure. Still can't believe he won re-election. This state is killing me. And they are saying that Rubio will be re-elected. God Help Me!!!

The subject of the conversation was the Zika virus.
Less than an hour away from that discussion many concerned people in Martin County were taking part in an emergency meeting about the growing algae problem in the Treasure Coast.
The governor did address the problem following his meeting, but continued to give very similar answers.
"The first thing you think of is public safety. So the Department of Health is out there along with the Department of Environmental Protection."
He didn't take any blame for the growing problem, saying the problem lies with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The blue green algae that's hitting Florida now is especially bad. Toxic to fish and humans.

(7,429 posts)Who wants to eat by the St Lucie River right now?? It stinks and it looks even worse. The restaurants and the companies using the River for their income are really hurting.
And of course Gov Skeletor could care less
