They're going to get a response they won't want to hear.
THE SKY IS FALLING has been the general tone of the last few days.

(22,298 posts)2 years ago. So bad that I started counting & one day it was up to FIFTY emails from the DNC & other Democratic organizations that treat Texas like shit except when they need money.
I marked them all "spam" & now they hit my spam folder for the most part.

(23,965 posts)"...all hope is lost" tone, rather than motivating, could make potential contributors say, "Well, screw it then. Why bother?"
Not very effective psychology.

(56,828 posts)As of 3:40pm EST today, It is 73. I suspect I'll be over 150 by midnight.
About 10 years ago, I donated a decent chunk of change to "Act Blue" - I wasn't sure how to split it up since they supported so many good candidates, so I told them to split it up between 10 candidates. Ever since, I've gotten fundraisers from each of those 10 candidates monthly, plus all of their spouses, aunts, uncles, adult children, and senior people in all their campaigns, and any successor campaigns (candidate 5 lost, but he or she sold his list to the next Democrat that ran in that district). Eventually, it was local Democratic committees, state Democratic committees (I just got one from the state committee of Virginia and earlier got one from Washington state - I live in Connecticut), and then national Democrats. I expect at least a few emails from Barack Obama today, one from Michelle Obama, one from Joe Biden, a few from Elizabeth Warren, at least two from Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders (one each already), etc.
it's tiring, and it seems impossible to get off of these mailing lists, too.

(8,946 posts)And the last one was 2 days before the election, the subject line was something like 'all is lost, it's over and we give up '
I'm not kidding, it was that bad
The sole purpose of the DCCC email list is to convince Democrats NOT to vote
