I actually knew someone very well who lived to 101, and he rarely slowed down much, though he developed heart issues when he was 99. He was my grandmother's significant other, my grandfather died when my Dad was only 12. He was also a serious liberal and really walked the walk (even with a walker), I learned a lot from him. But I realize he was a real exception.
