Said his father was there tonight. (And came from Cuba with $100 stuffed in his pants?)

I only heard him mention trump once, at the beginning when he congratulated him for winning the nomination.

I took the remark as a compliment. To provoke my right-wing father, I read the Communist Manifesto, when I was 13 and then went around saying "Workers of the world unite! You have nothing to lost but your chains!" Had I known the international crime-lord would eventually rob our nation, I'd have said, "You have nothing to lose but your Cheneys."

It's like the story about the scorpion and the frog where the scorpion asks the frog the carry it across the river and then stings it 1/2 way across because that is a scorpion's nature. Well Ted the Scorpion just stung Donald the Frog and now they will both drown.

Anyone who follows politics knows that Cruz is like that too. Disloyalty is not a new thing for him. He is a total shitbag, but it is fun when he is shitbagging his own party

Most Republicans (certainly the establishment) are disgusted by Trump, most refusing to even attend the convention, and those being vetted for VP ran away as fast as they could. Hell, I think he's crazy but I applaud his actions tonight.

It would seem that Cruz would be a hero after standing up that jackass and the thugs in that arena.

Just curious why you think his political career is 'finished'.

Trump knew cruz was going to say what he did.

Reminds me of reality show drama. I guess trump is

and you may be right, but overall I think this will hurt more than help him. Especially with Cruz continuing to talk today about how he isn't going to be a 'puppy' and just do what he's told, that he stands for Republican values and Trump simply does not so he cannot therefore endorse the jackass for President - I think he may help some others in his party wake up a little and realize that you can in fact stand up to Trump and his bullying campaign - or at the very least show that they are nothing but an disorganized, idiotic paper tiger.

Only time will tell which way things break - either way, I am over the moon with excitement that this RNC has become what will probably turn out to be the biggest clusterfuck in American politics and Trump will lose even more bigly to a much more qualified woman in November.

Cruz and Ben Sasse have basically staked their careers on the likelihood that Trump loses. If Hillary Clinton wins, the GOP is poised to tear itself apart. Bad news: what looks likely to emerge will be fascist. Cruz will be poised to lead that new party.
