He's really laying it out to them. Talking about Trump's many many lies he challenged the reporters to point them out and not just let them drop.
This is the best thing I have seen on cable news in a while!

(34,136 posts)When they started, they mentioned that was going to happen and they were just getting the group together before they headed out.
Blech - after that wonderful casual discussion with Franken, they just had to bring Hugh Hewit on to sour the mood.

(34,136 posts)Fortunately my branch changed the spelling of the name two hundred years ago so anyone who spells it the way he does is not a close relative.
That is also why I tend to leave off the final "T" - the spelling varied a lot in the early days: Hewit, Hewet, Huet, Huit, etc. None of the historic spellings are what my family ended up using.

(34,136 posts)Since I have been watching less and less of MSNBC I can't say how much he is on but it seems like every time I turn to it there is Hewitt, or the former RNC head blathering away. I turn away before I have to hear much of what they say.
Today I watched the convention on C-Span - what a difference! I'll do that for the rest of the week.

(34,136 posts)The way MSNBC has been going I won't be surprised if he becomes a regular, though. That's why God invented remote controls - the better to mute someone or change the channel completely!

(32,826 posts)Over I will stop watching it again. I need to spend my time making calls and knocking on doors anyway, not watching tv.

(34,136 posts)Between other commitments, car troubles and the heat I haven't gotten to HQ yet.
It would help if the campaign would move out of the Florida Democratic office - that place sucks for parking and accessibility. I hated it when I volunteered for the Kerry campaign and was really happy that the Obama campaign rented a different location.
Right now my husband is out of town four days a week and I am stuck driving the truck. Parking the Moby (it's white and the size of a whale) anywhere downtown is a bitch. I try to never take it anywhere near downtown but would have to if I try to volunteer on a regular basis.

(90,645 posts)I've never seen that happen before -- after all, her face is so frozen with surgery and botox that she can barely blink, but the skin below her lower lip kept dimpling over and over and over. No other expression...
You're right: Al Franken is a very bright man.

It was a very real moment, very open and honest, between insiders who live this stuff 24/7.
The whole evening was like a Democratic orgasm.
