simple question for them - does Don the Con's foundation have the correct paperwork to solicit money in New York - YES or fucking NO - the law is not blue or red.

Well since Matthew slowed down to a virtual crawl, he is still hours away from a serious impact in my part of the city.

When filing the paperwork the Trump Foundation elected to file as a family foundation, not a public one that is allowed to solicit contributions. They could have filed as a dual foundation which can be both - they did not - but then they would have been required to submit additional proof of the activities of the foundation. There are more details and many links in the posts linked above.

(48,786 posts)Surprise, surprise, Donald. You really should have thought this all through before declaring because anybody who knows more than a 5th grader about how things work would know that everybody would be turning over rocks to see what squirms.
But, as we know and the Republicans do not know, tRump does not have many neurons to rub together.

(173 posts)the Trump group is implying that a Republican AG would not uphold the law.

(13,081 posts)Instead of talking about his shady foundation, they change the conversation to the AG potentially acting out of politics.
It's the same way he took the conversation about "Miss Housekeeper" and made it one about whether she was slutty.
The media falls for it every time and we do, too, much of it.

(518 posts)You'd think the NY Atty-Gen would have a direct line to the office with files on the NY licenses for charities, but with the Trump Foundation the NY Atty-Gen didn't act until the Washington Post did all the investigation and made a front page fuss about it. What gives? Does Trump have the kind of cushy arrangement that shields him until newspapers make it too ugly for law enforcement to look the other way?

(45,806 posts)attention to one in particular, and that sounds like something that wouldn't take priority in the short handed & overworked licensing dept.
