Actually The GOP Meme Is That The Rich Should Pay NO Taxes.

In GOP land the rich are the job creators and should be completely unencumbered by paying taxes. That duty is only for the workers to pay. And military service is only for the underclass. It is about exempting the rich from everything. The rich is the NEW ARISTOCRACY like th kings of old. It is up them to rule and the rest of us to follow.

And that meme is the brutal truth about where the GOP and people like Trump live.

Things don't just trickle down overnight! It has only been 35 years! Give it a few more decades and everyone will be sharing in the wealth of the untaxed million and billionaires!

The sad thing is that most poor conservatives buy into that BS.

Years ago, during the post-war "Golden Era" between WWII and Reagan, tax cuts could sometimes help businesses expand and upgrade their operations which created jobs for Americans; the economy could get a boost as the wealth recirculated.

Then along came Reagan and globalization and financialization and the benefits stopped "trickling down" as whole factories were moved offshore and jobs disappeared. Of course the GOP would have you believe that tax cuts still "trickle down" just like Reagan said.

Super tax dodger Howard Hughes may be the real godfather of the GOP.
