He claims he's under audit, but there is no proof of that. He won't release the official audit letter, which would be on file if it exists.

The IRS, by law, is not allowed to release any of that, so it is up to Trump to do it.

Given his proclivity for mendacity, I expect that he really isn't under audit.

The person on the phone said he owed back taxes, and he called their 1-800 number just like they instructed him, and now he has to keep sending money to them to pay for the audit relief, and he can't tell anyone about it just like the IRS supervisor at that 800 number on the phone said.
Oh, and all his paperwork releasing him from his IRS back taxes is in the mail. So he can't say anything until that happens.
