because of a large percntage of voters going to Johnson, who was well liked here because he didn't screw anything up.

I don't believe it. I haven't heard a single person mention Trump when I'm out and about and we all know Trump's Chumps don't tend to keep it to themselves.

I think a lot of wannabe media pundits writing these stories forget how this works in races with more than two high-performing candidates. It simply doesn't matter if Johnson gets 2% or 28% of the vote. This is not a French election where you need more than 50% to win. If it's 38 - 32 - 28 - 2 Clinton -Trump - Johnson - Stein (and polls trend a better result than that) Clinton still gets all the EVs.
