We didn't have enough breeze for the lights to flicker. Indeed we've had more rain from Matthew yesterday and today than when we were on hurricane warning. There is minor road damage here.

Even though I don't hang out on DU any more, you're always in my thoughts when these "weather events" occur.

I was surprised to learn (this morning on the networks) who very severe it is.

How are you?

Now it sounds like there's another front coming through -- or did it already come and go? I swear I can't keep up. Seattle is hunkering down for a storm with possible typhoon-strength gusts, and we are woefully clueless on how to prepare/deal (unlike you professionals!) I spent yesterday scrambling to get a portable power pack for my phone because last time we had a storm of this magnitude, I still had a land line! So I admit I haven't been watching your side of the globe while in my tizzy of "what food doesn't need refrigeration???"

Hillary is supposed to be en route soon (private fundraiser) and it's pretty mild now, but I don't know how it will be when she's actually flying in. (I used to be a flight attendant with Northwest and those pilots -- and Alaska's, were good at flying into dicey conditions, but it was always scary nonetheless).

Like everyone, I imagine, I'll be so glad when this election is over. I personally am fed up with the Trump coverage and the small-minded, bigoted followers who have no idea what the fuck they're talking about. I totally blame the "media" for this because they didn't give any other candidates any air. I don't even remember for sure who the other Republican candidates were.

But the media, like the USA, is all about the money and the "news" organizations have to sell the advertising to get more profit to ensure the stockholders don't complain.

SHUT UP, GATELEY! See why I've become burned out on politics? I'm bitching about the same stuff I've always been bitching about!

Anyway, nice to see you, so happy to hear you're fine, and sending you a BIG hug -- and I'll always be thinking of you, malaise!

Please take care and prepare for that storm. You'd better stay safe.
Hard not to be burned out with the despicable human being living in the land of vitriol and denial.

Here's a hug for you too sis

as it has gone up the chain. Some of the proposed storm tracks via the Miami TV stations have the thing going up inland. While it will weaken the storm quicker, it will cause a huge amount of damage all along the east coast.

Nassau seems to be catching the worst now. Freeport is next. Video out of the Bahamas will be heartbreaking. The few pictures coming out of Haiti are also, entire streets in various towns simply erased, trees reduced to ragged stumps.
