so should be hearing more about it if anything comes of it. This is the party of dirty tricks so anything is possible. What ever it is, if it is, it will probably be worse.

Now its if he steps down so the meeting is just for if he himself steps down. Maddow just clarified that with the NYT reporter.

What happens if a U.S. presidential candidate withdraws (or dies) before the election is over?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2016/09/14/what-happens-if-a-u-s-presidential-candidate-withdraws-or-dies-before-the-election-is-over/

Presumably the elector would like to vote for the person the {***} Party has chosen to replace its nominee and does so. If state law prohibits that, is the state law unconstitutional? Is Congress obligated to accept this vote?

Any final thoughts or recommendations for where people can go to learn more about this topic?

There should not be this much uncertainty about such momentous questions, even if the events involved are low-probability events. The political parties need to clarify their rules after this election. Congress should consider legislation to resolve some of the remaining uncertainties.

For more information, see the article “Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Death: Closing the Constitution’s Succession Gap” by Akhil Reed Amar.

Absolutely ridiculous that the Republican party has brought the U.S. to this. Undertaking to become The President of the United States is the most important leadership paths in the world and Republicans have treated it like a trip to an amusement park. I know they want to dismantle government, and this is probably just another way they think they'll get their way.

Here is a link that discusses what might happen if Trump is forced out or withdraws:

But now it is too late. People are voting. Ballots are printed. Parties pick the nominee, but the voters do not vote for a party, but a person.

And they cannot fire him. He would have to quit. And they very publicly support his replacement.

We are now into faithless delegate territory. Where pulling the lever for Trump actually means someone else.

There are no good options for the republicans. They will just pull back all party support, try to save the house and take their ass-kicking.

being groped is not nice at all.

Because women are taught to be polite, not make waves, not fuss over things, we often don't call attention to stuff we should. Like being groped.

And as far as the map goes, I cannot understand why any woman at all would vote for Trump. Nor should any African-American. Nor should anyone whose parents or grandparents were immigrants.

In short, I don't understand why he should get more than 20 percent of the vote.
