Tonight: I was wrong. Shake hands. Go high. When attacked, "With malice toward none"

While we knew what DRUMPF was from the beginning and the ever more and more new revelations only amounted to filling in the original profile, when the current crap storm finally blew the top off my first impression was that Hillary should refuse to shake hands with him. When the dozen or so Replies all (but one) disagreed I silently resisted on the grounds that standing up to him was an "Eleanor or Rosa PARKS moment".

I wasn't swayed by the FLOTUS quote, "When they go low we go high," because I've always held we are all a mix of good and bad and are not "better" and that showing meekness to the enemy is collaboration with our downfall.

But after these "interesting" 48 hours, I've come around. A fierce slapdown to him will set off a backlash and sympathy for him.

As for what to do if he lashes out with Bill stuff and accusing her of being an enabler, I also now agree with one of the media yakkers who said she should react with "disappointment" at his tactics: One firm official condemnation at the beginning and all the rest sticking to detailed policy wonkishness he can't compete with, carving his repugnance, not to mention incompetence, in high relief.

It's not often that I can be convinced into changing my mind.

If one wishes to make an angry person mad, just be very nice to them. Make them look bad and you good.

Anger management lesson. Please lower your voice and talk in your normal tone. I can hear you fine.

Not only disarm him with humor, but confuse the hell of him with a nuanced jab as well.

I use medical gloves to clean up pet messes and do gross house cleaning. These work great. The price was fair and the quality is very good. So far, I haven't had a glove rip, even when my nails are long.

He knows how to respond to conflict with his domineering bluster. But condescension might be a little tougher for him.
