Alex Jones is a crackpot radio host who traffics in bizarre conspiracy theories. He is also very popular, and weirdly close to Donald Trump. Trump has tweeted links to Joness site Infowars; he has echoed conspiracy theories that originated on Joness site (like the idea that California has no drought, and the problem is being manufactured by environmental regulators trying to save an endangered fish); and he has been a guest on Joness show, where he told Jones that you have an amazing reputation.
And its not just Trump. Trumps close adviser Roger Stone is a close friend of Joness and a frequent guest on his show. Its plausible that Stone is the conduit through which Joness mania typically reaches Trump.
Thats a long wind-up for why I am telling you what Alex Jones just said. When you read this when you read a radio host Trump likes arguing that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are literally devils from hell who attract flies and smell of sulfur think about what it means for what kinds of ideas about Clinton might seem reasonable to someone marinating in this kind of rhetoric and vitriol. If one end of the spectrum youre on is shes demon possessed, then Hillary Clinton is a criminal who rigs elections and deserves to be in jail isnt a particularly extreme position:

I think they could both use a course of some powerful antipsychotic drugs so they could sort out reality from hallucination.
I really hate this stuff. Rwanda, Bosnia, Kosovo all started with hate radio.

(4,723 posts)I personally don't believe in demons or hell, but if that is what someone believes, I'll respect his or her belief.
But...if someone tells me he or she believes HRC and BHO are actual, literal, sulfur-scented demons straight from the very bowels of Hades, I am going to laugh that person's face.

(24,395 posts)Let's not forget that the Pope has increased the number of fucking exorcists in the RCC. What do exorcists supposedly do? Why, they cast out demons!
The same stupid, childish and dangerous beliefs that fuel Alex Jones and the religious right fuel the fucking Vatican. Belief in demons is a mainstream Christian belief.
