Why aren't conservatives dragging him over the coals the way they did Michelle Obama in 2008 when she said, "For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback"?
After don't both statements equate some level of disappointment in the US? Of course, Michelle Obama's statement was in the context that she was proud that so many people were turning out to vote - but that is not the way the right wing twisted it.
On the other hand, Donald Trump has been saying for over a year now that they US is no longer great, that everything is wrong and now he's come right out and said he was ashamed of the country. Shouldn't that merit much more condemnation than Michelle Obama's pride in the voter turnout?
Why is the right wing ignoring Trump's claim - because he is THEIR candidate and nothing he has done or will do can be wrong in their deluded minds.
