This is why the US cannot get enough support to pass the TPP. The American people do not trust that the government is negotiating these trade deals to favor the American people. That's not solely a right wing belief, but many on the left do not trust the government either.

I don't expect the government's popularity to increase any over the next several years either. Both presidential candidates have incredibly poor trust numbers. And neither one wants to curb the growing surveillance/police state.

I remember when some guy in a bar made a burning bush joke when Bush was pResident and they threw him in jail. Do Presidential candidates get any protection from death threats?
