I've never really accepted that it's a thing. I've been a consistent liberal critic of President Obama for most of his presidency. I thought ODS was just butt hurt about critics like me. Some of the shit that's coming across my Facebook now, from friends, acquaintances of friends, and family members (thankfully remote) is utterly deranged. Stuff about "Obama tyranny," unbelievable made up shit published as "news," and vile memes about the Obama family. It is unreal.

Sorry, just wanted to vent. The crazy is getting louder.

Come November after they have lost their 3rd straight presidential election I fear their hated for Obama will be viewed as tame compared to what Hillary will receive.

6. That is exactly what happened here on Democratic Underground for years.

One poster called him a piece of shit used car sales man here. Rocketed to the top of the page with about 600 recs. A fake apology and then doubled down on the Obama hate. That to went straight to the top of the page. Never got a hide. That was here on DU. Sad you are only seeing it now.

He has been treated as badly from the left as he was from the right. Worse than Bush. A sell out. All this and more happened on DU, he was to blame for everything.

To me, best President of my lifetime.

10. Testify.

When a person who actually likes the Democratic POTUS has to hide out in a protected group for nearly 8 freaking years on a Democratic board, that is some sad situation.

We elect human beings in this country -- we don't anoint demigods. They need both support and critiques of what they do -- but continual reflexive bashing isn't going to help in the slightest.

Gods willing, Hillary Clinton will be elected and sworn in as POTUS. I expect an incredibly ugly 4 years from the GOP and the Trumpsters. How will she fare here? Will those of us who wish her the best only find a haven in the HRC Group? Or will the measure of sanity that has been enforced during this election season be allowed to continue?

I was not a member for the eight years. I got here in 2011. Took me awhile to get my footing here.

One day I was on the main page saw a list of groups. Clicked Democrats, saw The BOG clicked on and I was home. I was so happy to have a safe place to talk about our President. Appalled that we needed one yet he was vilified at DU. Soon after Cha made me a host in the group. Still they came and trashed the man.

Well, Hekate I guess it will be up to Skinner and new rules as how Hill will be treated here. Hmm...methinks we will be in the Hill Group. I host there as well, I believe we will need more hosts.

8. ODS at least is mostly based on imaginary things he's doing now or going to do.

Clinton Derangement Syndrome will be that plus decades of imaginary things she's done in a long imaginary past. Saying that makes me feel weird because I did what emoprogs and Republicans do: I took a topic that wasn't about Hillary Clinton and made it about her. Like when Trump is asked about his grope-brag and talks about Bill Clinton, or the way DU was when it didn't matter the topic, threads devolved into baseless insultfests directed at Clinton or anyone who didn't have CDS.
