The jury was sent home for the day mid-afternoon Friday. The defense may present more witnesses on Monday. But closing arguments are in sight.

Once the defense rests, prosecutors will begin their rebuttal and may possibly call Harney County prosecutor Steve Grasty. Closing arguments would follow, with federal prosecutors going first. Each of the 7 defendants will be allowed to make closing arguments as well.

I suppose the prosecutors figure that for the charges against the Bundy Terrorist Gang the case has already been made, and there's no point in keeping the jury from its deliberations. But I would have loved to see Ryan and Ammon and the rest of them raked over the prosecutorial coals for their demented and unamerican views.

The Bundy group's 6-step plan for patriots:

1) Bring guns.
2) Seize control of a bird sanctuary.
3) Make brainless statements to the media.
4) Call out for snacks.
5) Suffer humiliating arrest.
6) Get thrown in slammer.

Ok, I guess that's it.

7) Lose right to own beloved guns
8) Own guns anyway
9) Get thrown back in slammer

You know it'll happen

And there are their wretched egos to contend with as well.

When they were occupying Malheur, they called out for snacks. Some of their supporters across the country sent snacks, but some of their detractors sent gummi-dicks.

I think it's fair to say that a statement was being made.
