It is a lot of things - stupid, shortsighted, vindictive, etc. - but he has no "duty" to consent to a Supreme Court nomination, nor is it levying war against the United States for him to consent to a Supreme Court nomination.

I suppose you'd like him tried and executed for this "treason" of his?

If anything I'm a bit surprised they say it out loud this early...

Then if the Ginsberg seat comes open, look for Republicans to suddenly become "West Wing" fans and push for Hillary to name a liberal and a conservative. This is why winning the Senate is so essential.

for back pay. Most repub pols I've known get some of the bribe after they leave office, "then it's not a bribe" snickered one former repub CA PUC member to me. Maybe they can fly him to one of their vacation homes "for old times sake".
