I went to JPR to read whats REALLY going on. Some enlightening comments here:
DOS attacks correspond with Ecuador Embassy attack. Too coordinated. Too coincidental. Too massive. Fascist pigs!
The desperation is palpable. Pretty obvious that the DDOS and the Assange situation are linked, and it thus follows that the US government is the source of the DDOS.
I imagine it's site-specific, with a few other major ones thrown in to make it look like its just a major, haphazard attack. So proud that this tiny, nearly-brand-new site has been included.
If the DNC wasn't scared, they wouldn't be doing this shit.
Idiotic is the only word that comes to mind to describe Assanges penchant to announce beforehand what he plans to release. Had he just released whatever he has on Brazille and Kaine without the announcement, Im willing to bet the internet would not be under attack today.
Yet access to "the DUmp" is just fine. Hmm
imagine that.
Along with the above, the other top CTs on JPR today are: Assange was scooped-up in the middle of the night and is on his way to the States, OR Assange has been assassinated by
wait for it
Pamela Anderson, who recently visited him and brought him a vegan sandwich that was apparently laced with poison.
They say you "can't make this shit up" - but if you do, you'll find a captive audience on JPR that's willing to believe every word of it.
BTW, the posters who are convinced that JPR was specifically targeted (because we all know how influential it is) are completely ignoring the fact that the site admins had a warning up yesterday morning saying the site would be off-line intermittently while upgrades were made.

(58,785 posts)The last because apparently normal people can do this to themselves by associating with others on somewhat extreme sites, which develop and reinforce increasingly irrational viewpoints. (27,813 posts)They're constantly saying that Hillary & The Dems are using "scare tactics" to make people vote for her by pointing out what a disaster a Trump presidency would be.
But in the same breath, they keep telling people not to vote for Hillary, because she's already planning to start a war with Russia - and they know that for a fact, because Jill Stein told them so.

(27,813 posts)... you could forget the name Manny Goldstein, being as his brilliant satire always goes viral and is reproduced on websites all over the 'net.
I have no explanation for why that doesn't show up on Google, which only shows his stuff being limited to JPR and his own blog.
But then, according to JPR, Google is part of the vast conspiracy to ensure HRC's election, and therefore eliminates any anti-HRC/anti-Dem stories to keep people ignorant of the truth. No doubt Manny G's incredible popularity as a satirist has been deliberately quashed.

(53,521 posts)Some may have psychiatric issues, but most don't. It is a common human failing to look for people and groups of people to blame for impersonal socioeconomic and cultural forces. Philosopher Karl Popper compared this tendency to how ancient people blamed anything bad that happened as being the result of the anger of the gods, except now we blame "The Establishment", or "The Corporatists", or "Cultural Marxists" or "The Jews" rather than the gods.

http://jackpineradicals.com/boards/topic/has-anyone-noticed-whether-the-writing-style-of-wikileaks-has-changed/
Mike Cernovich
Mike Cernovich is an alt-right activist who operates the website Danger & Play.
The site publishes numerous articles, essays, and audio recordings that attack feminists, "SJWs," (social justice warriors) and disputes the validity of date rape claims. Some headlines from Danger & Play include "Matriarchy has Created a False Rape Culture" and "Feminists Don't Care About Rape."
On his Twitter accounts, Cernovich has dismissed the possibility of date rape, writing, the hotter the sex, the more closely it resembles rape, the only rape culture is Muslim rape culture, and asking why should I care when women are raped?
Cernovich has promoted the false rumor that Hillary Clinton is suffering from health problems and also promoted a long-debunked conspiracy theory that Clinton aide Huma Abedin is affiliated with Islamic radicals.

(53,521 posts)One has to only go to Reddit to see that there are a lot of socially unenlightened "brogressives" who think they are liberal just because they are Atheists, OK with gay marriage, want legal weed, and want free college tuition. But then they start screaming about "SJW Femi-Nazis" and "violent BLM terrorists" and the veil comes off.
I call these types "Blue Culture Conservatives", they are conservatives who think they are liberal because they are culturally on the "blue" side of the culture war divide and associate "conservatism" with the Red Culture religious loons.

They seem like decent people and I haven't seen them participate in the worst nonsense over there, so maybe they are just hoping to be a positive influence? (Too pollyannish of me?) Not that I spend much time there anymore (and never got an account myself, WAY too much sewage there). I did check it out at the time of the "mass migration" and then occasionally since, just to see if anything's changing. I can understand some people being disappointed in certain of Hillary's policies, and wanting to discuss more radical solutions - but that doesn't justify the vitriol, or the supporting Trump. I support Hillary in this election despite my disagreement with her on some things, because face it, there isn't any one that I would agree with 100%, and she is at least a reasonable option as a leader of the country, and liberal enough in many areas.

He was very much a proponent of bringing the party back to the left and had some very thoughtful posts and discussions. This isn't "obsession" - it's the fun of sharing the utter nonsense spewed by people who actually believe that Hillary is walking around in a full-body metal brace due to her many debilitating diseases, and swear that Assange was poisoned by Pamela Anderson's vegan sandwich.
THAT'S what is "sadly pathetically hilarious" - and it REALLY IS!!!
JPR has become a never-ending source of hilarity. If they don't like being pointed at and laughed at, they should try not making themselves such easy targets of ridicule.
For many people, a day without reading JPR is a day without . And what's even MORE hilarious is the fact that these RWers are still trying to pass themselves off as True Progressives (TM).

Right now, there's a note at the top of the home page telling people that they've enabled their DDOS protection, but that slowed the site down even more.
If you can get the site to load, do look at the names in the forums. On November 9, some of those names will start appearing again on DU. We should not forget.

(27,813 posts)LOTS of people who left DU because they were persecuted for being far-left and True Progressives (TM) - now quoting FOX-News, Breitbart, Ha-Ha Goodman, and singing the praises of Trey Gowdy while praying for Assange - who was either assassinated by the Clintons or is being held in a secret CIA prison.
Watching things unfold on JPR has been an education as to how easily these self-declared "far lefties" have been turned into RWers in a matter of months. They actually believe that Trump will be a great president, and will follow through with Bernie's agenda if elected.
President Hillary, on the other hand, is going to start WWIII within weeks of her inauguration, will continue to have her political adversaries murdered, and will gut SS - despite the fact that she's dying of at least a dozen different diseases.
JPR is a great study of how easily-manipulated the weak-minded can be. They will literally believe anything if it's anti-HRC/anti-Dem - and I do mean anything. As of just a few days ago, they were still coming up with ways in which Bernie can (and will) replace Hillary before Tuesday - and will go on to win in an absolute landslide.
It's really quite sad to see so many once-respected DUers demonstrating just how easily-led they can be.

(27,813 posts)... (aka jackpineradicals) started by disgruntled Bernie-or-Busters who left DU when told that bashing HRC was no longer permitted here after she was elected as our party's nominee. Apparently they didn't understand that a site called DemocraticUnderground existed for the purpose of electing a Democrat as POTUS.
JPR was originally launched to support Bernie and his agenda. But once he lost the nomination, it quickly became an anti-HRC/anti-Dem site. Recognizing an opportunity to sway disgruntled Democrats away from their own long-professed "progressive ideals", the site was quickly infiltrated by right-wingers who post links to FOX-News, Brietbart, and other RW sources. People like Alex Jones are often cited as truth-tellers who are being disparaged by the powers-that-be in the evil Democratic Party, who live in fear of "the facts" being known.
JPR has become a case study in how easily-led the weak-minded can be. Its regular posters have become nutcases who will literally believe anything - no matter how ludicrous, and regardless of its source - if it is anti-HRC, anti-Dem, anti-Obama. Bloggers who no one has ever heard of are quoted as "reliable sources", and people like Trey Gowdy are praised for their patriotism and political insight.
According to JPR, Donald Trump is much closer to Bernie's idealism than is HRC and, if elected, will adopt Bernie's agenda and follow through on all of Bernie's campaign promises.
Right now, JPR is probably best known for its conspiracy theories, which have attracted many viewers anxious for a good guffaw. While losing serious political watchers due to the insane bullshit that gets posted there on a daily basis, the site continues to brag about its "viewers" - apparently unaware that a good number of those viewers only read the site in order to point-and-laugh at some of the most inane CTs ever accumulated on a single site.
If you've ever wanted to see self-proclaimed "progressives" being turned into useful RW tools, JPR is the place to see it happening in real time.
