(1,368 posts)The election has been taking up most people's attention. Even the New York Times did an article. This is getting bigger because of an article here or a short segment on mainstream news. This movement was nurtured and born from social media. The local news just lies because the powers that be there have an agenda with Dakota Access, LLC, a subsidiary of Energy Transfer Crude Oil Company, LLC.
So we need voices.

(164 posts)This has been playing on for quite awhile. The state's Government (heavily Repugs) will go to bed with the oil companies. 'Ol North Dakota was rakin' in the dough during that Bakken oil rush from 2009 or so until when oil prices collapsed last year. But to keep them here, they'll give them anything they want. Apartment owners jacked rent up 400% or more because oil workers could afford it causing the long-term residents to have to move out. PURE GREED! Now there are a TON of vacancies. Good, let them lose all they gained. My next car will be a hybrid! Now the state has a shortage of money coming in and that means CUTS. Cuts to the services people need most.

(2,012 posts)The whole nation should be up in arms and over what is happening in North Dakota and standing with the Standing Rock Sioux and all the protesters. We know Trump is invested in the pipeline but where are Hillary and our elected leaders?
