Great Series so far....
Except for the camera work. :> ) As usual..
-close up of pitcher's beard and ear, zzooooommm in,, eeeeiiiiiiiiEEIII TOO BIG !!!
-close up of the batter adjusting his gloves DUH!! No shit!!
-close up of batter 'concentrating'
-close up of pitcher peering in
- close up of batter scratching nuts
Ah shit, missed the pick off!!
Where are the outfielders playing?
Where are the infielders playing?gap. CLOSE UP of the ball ... Look how good I am with the zoom button !! But where the fuck are the runners????
throw to third.. close up of the ball THE BALL !!!
Over and over and over and over. Every pitch exactly the same hour after hour..year after year....
Do these people have ANY idea about the game of baseball? NO ! None. nada.. ZERO.... I swear, these are the same idiot directors who do live streaming of symphony orchestra concerts...
BTW, Hendricks' curve ball is just filthy dirty... :> )

(24,324 posts)Did you see that freaking outside corner two seamer?

(11,119 posts)team isn't playing in it! But it a lot less nerve-wracking to watch!

(24,324 posts)Now I feel more loved.
My team isn't in it either I just love baseball..
TheDebbieDee
(11,119 posts)My team played in the last 2 WS after missing post'season entirely for 29 years... But I gotta tell you, those guys were SO worth the wait!
Enjoy this Cubs fans and Indian fans!

(24,324 posts)The greatest day of the year isn't New years. or Christmas, or July 4th.

(2,678 posts)I've given up of ever seeing my team in the Series. Maybe they do need to get rid of Buck! He does not know how to handle a pitching staff. Zach Brittain should've pitched in that w/c game & didnt! 😡😡
Gabi Hayes
(28,795 posts)turn on AM 670 during the seventh inning. bill murray will be singing take me at the stretch. dunno if it's streaming, but I live in Chicago, so have it on.
was there a phantom exchange at second on the faux double play they tried?
not even a replay to see how close it was!!!
just wretched coverage
and almost no strike/ball replay, even though they have the overhead to see clearly if the ball was inside/outside/on the plate
pathetic
that home plate umpire is the worst I've seen.....just horrendous calls in the first inning, particularly, against the Indians, and I'm a rock hard cub. so there
pangaia
(24,324 posts)But, yeah, FOX is the worst..
Phantom exchange.. no-- in the interest in protecting the pivot guy, they are unofficially allowed to be off the bad as long as it looks like they COULD HAVE BEEN on it..
Hirshberg, though, to his credit, has been pretty consistent.
Gabi Hayes
(28,795 posts)the fact they didn't replay it makes me wonder why.....it sure looked to me like the phantom foot happened that time
here's espn radio stream....WAY behind the tv:
http://tunein.com/radio/ESPN-Chicago-1000-s21297/
WSCR am 670, doesn't appear to be streaming it....but I'm still checking
if AM 1000 is, they should be able to

(80,708 posts)but I never thought I'd see a World Series at Wrigley Field. For reals.

(14,853 posts)Maybe not to THAT extent, but I don't like not seeing more of the field of play.
I'm convinced that their games take longer too due to commercials.
pangaia
(24,324 posts)so you can see the receivers.....
Gabi Hayes
(28,795 posts)ridiculously terrible
even the replays are often likely to follow the quarterback, not the receiver's route
the failure to not pan back is my biggest gripe, though, among myriad others
pangaia
(24,324 posts)same thing in symphony concerts.. close ups of trumpet valves, the cute young violinist's fingers, trombone bell.. blechkkkk
It can be the end of the Mahler 1st with both timpanists playing fff and what do they show? Yet another shot of the 1st violins...
(former timpanist, btw)
Gabi Hayes
(28,795 posts)night trip to rio!
on the high school radio station
too funny
double play....cubs!
another phantom pivot?
no replay again!
pangaia
(24,324 posts)You and the phantom..
gabi, it's gonna be a long night
Gabi Hayes
(28,795 posts)not looking gut for my cubsters
pangaia
(24,324 posts)Mets fan here, sort of..
But GO CUBS !!!!!!!!
pangaia
(24,324 posts)Missed the runner going to 3rd arrgghhhhh
zoom in on the ball. The ball is WHITE with little red sewing on it.
We all know that !!
Buckeye_Democrat
(14,853 posts)If there's no pitching change or something, it's the same ol' FOX extra-commercial coverage that I see in football too.
EDIT: Okay, the Cubs indeed changed pitchers.
a kennedy
(29,655 posts)Go Cobs Go. Doesn't that sound odd??? Go Brewers Go. Sounds so much better.
pangaia
(24,324 posts)a kennedy
(29,655 posts)and I agree GO COBS GO......
pangaia
(24,324 posts)Mets fan here....But also GO COGS GO !!!
gratuitous
(82,849 posts)Two wire-to-wire games of 6-0 and 5-1 were boring. Game 3 is a little more dramatic. Good pitching and good fielding, both teams getting out of jams, and it's scoreless in the top of the sixth.
Let's see who responds to the pressure, and who wilts.
pangaia
(24,324 posts)I thought they were still good games... To me they felt tight regardless, especially the first one.. 3-0 until the very end.
But you're right.
This one is really good.. dead man walking curve balls and dirty 2 seamers all over the place..
gratuitous
(82,849 posts)The Royals had come from behind twice by this time last year.
Definitely more interesting than Games 1 and 2, but still: Chicago's inability to get a hit when they need one is becoming the story of the Series.
