Desperate distraction from Trump's sexual assault problems, on purpose in my opinion.F.B.I. Chief James Comey Is in Political Crossfire Again Over Emails
.... reaction was swift and damning, with Mrs. Clintons supporters and even some Republicans blasting Mr. Comey. .....
By late Friday, Mr. Comey felt it necessary to further explain his actions in an email to F.B.I. employees in which he acknowledged that there is significant risk of being misunderstood. He explained that he was trying to balance the obligation he felt to tell Congress that the investigation he had said was completed was continuing, with not knowing yet the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails.
Justice Department officials were said to be deeply upset about Mr. Comeys decision to go to Congress with the new information before it had been adequately investigated.
That decision, said several officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity, appeared to contradict longstanding Justice Department guidelines discouraging any actions close to an election that could influence the outcome.
One official complained that no one at the F.B.I. or the Justice Department is even certain yet whether any of the emails included national security material or was relevant to the investigation into whether Mrs. Clinton had mishandled classified material in her use of a private email server.

A complaint has been filed against FBI Director James Comey with Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility that accuses him of interfering in a presidential election.
The Democratic Coalition Against Trump released a statement announcing their complaint:
The Democratic Coalition Against Trump filed a complaint with the Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility on Friday against FBI Director James Comey for interfering in the Presidential election, following the FBIs decision to open up an investigation into Secretary Clintons emails this close to Election Day. Federal employees are forbidden from participating in political activities under the Hatch Act.
It is absolutely absurd that FBI Director Comey would support Donald Trump like this with only 11 days to go before the election, said Scott Dworkin, Senior Advisor to the Democratic Coalition Against Trump. It is an obvious attack from a lifelong Republican who used to serve in the Bush White House, just to undermine her campaign. Comey needs to focus on stopping terrorists and protecting America, not investigating our soon to be President-Elect Hillary Clinton.
Outrage is growing over Comeys actions as details about the FBI investigation have revealed that it has nothing to do with Clinton, her emails, or her server. ............

Everything was turning into abject defeatism for them, so they had to do something.
This was the best they could come up with.
