Children can say the darndest things...

A friend recently move to Orlando from Mississippi w/ her 11 year old and a baby. The 11 year old was/is very excited about attending an integrated school for the first time. She couldn't believe all the differences including uniforms and enough instrument's to go around for the band. Speaking with her by phone she informed me that the white kids were very nice, and she was surprised to hear black kids speaking Spanish. ( Caribbean blacks ) Lots of awe and wonder.
The uncle with whom they reside drives her to the bus stop each day and waits until she gets on. A couple weeks ago a friend of the child approached the car and ask if she could come to her birthday party the following weekend, but the kid told her no because her family was going out of town. Well, as soon as he could, the uncle ask why she had told the girl that story knowing they were not going anywhere....wait for it :

I can't go over there because her Mother is voting for Donald Trump.

( it was later learned that they had done some sort of class exercise regarding the election )
