How low has the bar been set for honorable Republicans?

In 2004 Comey performed one honest act by standing up to bullying by Andrew Card and Alberto Gonzalez while Ashcroft was in the hospital. That one act was enough to catapult him to some kind of special status as an honorable Republican. And ended up getting him appointed head of the FBI by Obama. When will we learn??
