Was a Trump server communicating with a Russian bank? These cyber experts believe so. http://slate.me/2e6A00U

(30,058 posts)into the Russian connections. We know the DNC has been hacked by Russians and this is probably a bigger deal than any emails. Thanks for posting, lots of dirt going on here.

This needs to happen NOW, to drive off that fucking e-mail nonsense - not in two week.

(5,762 posts)Sure. We'll see where that leads, given what we know about the FBI director and his sensitivity to Russia's fee-fees so close to the election.

(82,849 posts)I'm so old, I remember a time when Republicans were ultra-sensitive to any American politician getting too cozy with the Russians. Many careers were ruined or never even got off the ground if a person could be stove-piped into a relationship with our sworn existential enemies in the Kremlin.
Now here they are, nominating someone to run for president on their ticket, who appears to be up to his eyeballs in hock to the Russians or the Russian mob. Seems like something that Republicans should be interested in finding out about, no?

(5,586 posts)It wouldn't surprise me if the Trump organization, or any organization, had "secret" servers for handling private business communications. And servers are designed to send traffic to other servers.
They have a lot of questions to answer before this goes anywhere. Was the server sending money to / from Alfa Bank? Was it sending porn? Recipe's maybe? Or was it regular internet traffic? The article mentions the amount of packet traffic was infinitesimally small, but they can't read the packets, so they have no idea what's in them.
Alfa Bank is a real bank in any case. It's like Bank of America except in Russia, and as a International finance institution, they are subject to regulation by any country they do business in, including the United States.
Anyone who thinks we've found evidence of Trump interaction with Russian intelligence agencies is sorely mistaken.
Trump is going down in this election, but he's not going to go down because of this. He's going to lose because he's an egotistical idiot.
