Iowans are left to hug each other while gundamentalists hug their guns.
Emotional act of kindness brings Iowa police officer to tears
The video starts with a woman clasping one hand with an Iowa police officer. Her other hand delivers the officer a case of bottled water.
"I can't even imagine," she said, her voice breaking. "This is the only thing I know ... how to help ... is to feed."
The 40-second clip, from Des Moines television station KCCI, has traveled quickly across social media, with people moved by the emotional, gracious moment. The video comes in the wake of the fatal shooting of an Urbandale police officer and a Des Moines police officer in apparent "ambush style" attacks early Wednesday.
Scott Michael Greene is suspected of ambushing the two metro-area police officers who were shot and killed. Police have brought Greene, 46, into custody.
"I want you guys to be hydrated and not be hungry," the woman tearfully told the officer. "And I want you to come home to your families, because I want my dad to come home to me. And I want my friends to come home to me. And I'm sorry."
"And I'm here for you all. I don't know how else to help or what else to do," she continued.
The clip shows a tear streaming down the officer's cheek as the two embraced.
"Thank you," the officer said.

The NRA is all about pushing GUNS and HATE and VIOLENCE.

(12,194 posts)Because it isn't a case of guns vs Iowans. If it were, considering there are 300+ million guns in America, BY YOUR OWN LOGIC they'd all be dead.
The truth of the matter, in fact, is that the guns you're railing against, can not operate without an operator .
You have yet to discuss the operator, or the misuse of firearms which is at the heart of the matter.
Your opinion is noted, and taken for exactly what it is worth.

That's not a reasonable expectation.
What's next? Will you tell us that we're not allowed to criticize the gunsucking open carry activist who murdered Andrea Farrington?
Andrea Farrington is dead, at the hands of an Open Carry Activist, and some on DU are lying about it

Who else are Iowans not allowed to criticize when they murder us?

(2,620 posts)misplaced - IMHO.
A little anecdote: when I was a kid we had a gun club at school. Yes, we actually had a shooting range in the basement of the school - something UNTHINKABLE in this day & age (and no, this wasn't in Texas. This was in a deep blue state).
Something has changed since then; gun crime is down since then, the guns haven't really changed that much.
So - what has changed?
