adjusted for inflation is about $8,000,000 today.

When I was eleven my dad loaned me $25 so I could get a different bike to use on my paper route.

Plus wasn't there something like an open credit line at Chase Manhattan Bank opened for him by his Dad? Let's see, my Dad could afford to send me $5 per week, for one year, while I was at college. My mother was a real hero and sent me $11 per week most of the time.
