Marc Caputo, a Florida pollster for Politico, just stated that the Trump campaign has no internal polling as they have refused to pay their polling company and they owe that company over $800,000 dollars (updated to reflect numbers from Vanity Fair article - thanks Napi21). The campaign is almost completely relying on publicly available polls and only those that favor their position.
Edit to add Washington Post link about Pollster:

(14,168 posts)Never thought about that before. But now that I do, you're right, she'd never have time to be able to go on show after show spewing her insane talking points.
I suspect they gave her the title of "Campaign Manager" as a way to give her more credibility when it is displayed under her image in her appearances in the media.

Caputo also stated that trump campaign has released no internal polling numbers in months.

(8,686 posts)Their had been no numbers from the campaign in months. There is still polling coming from the RNC (they pay their bills) but nothing working within campaign itself.
If you have something that says that is wrong than I will stand corrected...I have no problem being wrong I just haven't seen what you have I guess.

Político writer tells MSNBC that Trump has stopped polling - because he refuses to pay his pollster. May explain campaigning in odd places.

I'd have crawled over broken glass to vote Dem but I didn't put up signs. There aren't any in yards around here.

(45,806 posts)Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio, a veteran polling strategist, claims that the Trump campaign currently owes his firm $766,756.67 dollars for his work, as well as an additional $55,300 in debt, The Washington Post reports. This isnt the first time that Trump has stiffed Fabrizio, either: according to Federal Election Commission filings, Trump previously failed to pay Fabrizio between May and September, when his firm finally received nearly $624,000.
Out of all the pollsters in the Republican orbit, its hard to imagine that Fabrizio would have done a poor job: the career pollster, an ally of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, has worked on several presidential campaigns, and previously architected Rick Scotts win in the 2010 Florida gubernatorial election. When Fabrizio was hired in May, Politico surmised that Fabrizios experience with Scott, himself an outsider businessman, would translate to an affinity with Trump. But Fabrizio reportedly made enemies within Trumps inner circle, clashing with Trumps son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who said there was no need for focus-group testing, and with Trump himself, when he and Manafort reportedly chided the G.O.P. nominee for his self-defeating feud with the Khan family.
The Trump campaign did not tell the Post why it had not yet paid Fabrizio; spokesman Jason Miller described it as an administrative issue that were resolving internally. Other pollsters, including Kellyanne Conway, who was promoted to campaign manager this summer, have found favor with the mercurial billionaire. But Conway learned early on that to stay on Trumps good side, or to maintain any control over him, you have to treat him like a child, finding the silver lining in every negative story in order to placate his fragile ego. Perhaps Fabriziowhose job is to conduct the polling that currently shows Trump hurtling toward a resounding lossconfronted his boss with too much unvarnished truth.

I think the Con is dealing with the pollster the same way he deals with his contractors. Sign an agreement they pay 'em what you feel like paying when the job's done. If they're unhappy, they can sue!

(19,021 posts)I guarantee they are stealing the Dems. Internal polling is everything, you need it to be able to properly allocate resources not just by state, but by county and even precinct. You have to know which of your voters you need to reach out to.
