Colorado State Senator Confronted By Shotgun Wielding Trump Supporter during GOTV Effort.

A three term Democratic Colorado state senator had a dicey experience when he was participating a GOTV effort while walking a west Denver suburb on Saturday morning. He was knocking on doors and talking to voters and leaving literature where there was no answer. At one house as he walked down the driveway after leaving literature a man came out with a shotgun over his shoulder and told him to get off his property. Colorado has a make my day law that has been used in the past.

The incident was only reported to campaign staff of candidate he was working for. The man did not brandish the weapon but only had it on his shoulder. The household has been marked as a "do not canvas household" to alert other Democratic candidates working the area.

Trump supporters are angry and edgy when you encounter one. There seems to be quite of bit of hostility if you are not a Trump supporter. Right now GOTV is aimed at independents and Democratic households. Despite how GOTV is targeted there are occasional encounters with Republicans or Trump supporters.
