Staring at Defeat, Donald Trump Is Sleepless and Vengeful

The New York Times has a truly remarkable piece this morning about the final days of the Trump campaign:

Aboard his gold-plated jumbo jet, the Republican nominee does not like to rest or be alone with his thoughts, insisting that aides stay up and keep talking to him. He prefers the soothing, whispery voice of his son-in-law.

....Mr. Trump’s candidacy is a jarring split screen: the choreographed show of calm and confidence orchestrated by his staff, and the neediness and vulnerability of a once-boastful candidate now uncertain of victory.

"To be a rich nation, we must also be a safe nation, and you know what's going on there," he told the crowd. "Oh, Minnesota. Oh, Minnesota. You know what's going on. You know what I'm talking about. Do you know what I'm talking about? Oh, be politically correct. Just nod. Quietly nod. The whole world knows what's happening in Minnesota."

"Honestly, it's hard to believe," he said. "Everybody's reading about the disaster taking place in Minnesota.... You don't even have the right to talk about it. You don't even know who's coming in. You have no idea. You'll find out."

We haven't a fucking clue what you are talking about. Most of us are no more than 3rd or 4th generation Americans and can remember grandparents that had foreign accents. We get along fine with new-comers.

Minnesota knows that it is a "fly over" state on the coasts and that no one there reads anything about Minnesota. Dumbass never even left the airport. Insulting the knowledge of Minnesotans was as stupid as your (lack of) policies. BA-leave me.

I think I know what the "disaster" is in Minnesota, and it has nothing to do with immigrants.

It's starting to happen regularly on Sundays.

It's part of the gerrymandered 6th District that sent Michele Bachmann to Congress. Trump was trying to stir up fear based on that, but other than the dog whistle to his supporters, rational people shrugged and said at least this nutjob didn't have a firearm with a high capacity magazine. No one died except the kid with the knife.

Europe wants nothing to do with the return of fascism as does the Middle East and other obvious targets. He has at least half the American public who hates him. His usefulness to Russia is coming to an abrupt end. After he goes broke his entitled children may want to consider a name change.

how he was going continue to pursue prosecuting Hillary "for her horrible, horrible crimes". He looked like he was about to explode. And honestly, is there a sane person in the world who thinks Hillary's e-mail issues represent a "horrible, horrible crime"?

Screw that. I just hope a majority of us aren't suicidal.

He's always been vengeful and his children are going to witness their inheritances being squandered on lawyers as he tries to sue everybody who's said rude things about him and he'll do that if he wins or loses.

This was his winning strategy:

* Lie blatantly and constantly
* Ridicule disabled people
* Threaten undocumented immigrants
* Ridicule minorities
* Stalk and threaten your female opponent
* Sulk and whine about the media and unsupportive GOP politicians
* Have Twitter tantrums about Gold Star families, former beauty queens, Saturday Night Live
* Question why we don't use nuclear weapons (just to add a little drama!)
* Encourage a foreign government that's not even an ally to hack your opponents email
* Earn the enthusiastic support of the KKK and other white supremacists
* Not pay your own pollsters
* Greatly inflate the cost of renting your own facilities and then use campaign donations to make a profit
* Have almost no GOTV operation
* Have your spouse deliver a plagiarized speech
* Lose all 3 debates due to no preparation and being thin skinned and easily played
* Have your top two celebrities be Scott Baio and Ted Nugent
* Have your top surrogate be the repulsive Rudy Guiliani
* During your convention, scream about all the horrors in the nation and claim you're the only one who can help
* Insult and threaten to fire the generals
* Have no real policies except for the same old terrible ones the GOP keeps trying and failing with, such as trickle down economics

What am I forgetting?
