I am so sick of hearing about Trump's "mandate"

You can't have a mandate if you don't even win the popular vote.
If you can't get at least 320 Electoral Votes, you don't have a mandate. So far, Trump is stuck at 290 Electoral Votes and the best he can hope for is 306.
Donald Trump squeaked by with the third LOWEST percentile of the Electoral College in the last 100 years! Other than the Bush margins, you have to go back to 1916, with Woodrow Wilson, to find a lower percentile. Even if you give him the other 16 Electoral Votes from Michigan, considering he can hold on to his 13,000 vote lead during any recounts, you have to go back to the 1960 Kennedy/Nixon election to find a closer margin.
And if you want to compare popular vote margins, you have to go all the way back to Rutherford Hayes in 1876 to find a president who did worse in the popular vote!
Just barely, barely, squeaking out a victory by the skin of your teeth is the OPPOSITE of a mandate.
I don't think these people know what the word mandate means. Maybe they think he's going to go on a date with Putin?
