crashing across the globe. I believe it is a response to global neoliberalism. That change can be positive, or not, depending on whether or not those in power embrace change or resist it. Since those in power don't willingly give up power, we may get negative change; the U.S. has been riding the edge of fascism for quite some time, and since what counts as "the left" in the U.S. didn't offer change, (or the mainstream rejected what was offered,) we are definitely seeing the rise of fascism here.
