A Most Happy Welcome
Between kids and grandkids, a friend has been finding moments in which to study for the citizenship test, and she was terribly disappointed to learn that the test wouldn't happen in time for her to vote in the 2016 election. But she went ahead with it. She just now sent this note:
I PASSED!
After studying hard, I had to get 6 answers out of 10 correct.
1) Who is our president?
2) What is the capital of the U.S.?
3) What day are our taxes due?
4) What month do we vote?
5) What is the capital of Colorado?
6) Who was the first President?
They must have written this for Donald Trump on his test about America.
That ending comment is hers.
P.S. -- I am delighted to welcome her, and have been invited to be there when she registers to vote as well as when she takes the oath. I did tease her a bit, questioning her sanity in still wanting to join us after this monstrous election. We both laughed as I said, "Welcome to the asylum!"
