Dad accused of driving drunk (5th offense) objects to effort to remove daughter from life support
When he illegally drove away, he did not go in the direction of the closest (west or south) hospitals. Thompson drove north in the car but was found by an Omaha police officer a short time later near Miller Park. He was trying to discard alcohol containers in a trash can, police have said.

Police say Benjamin Thompson caused his 8-year-old daughter's life-threatening injuries by driving drunk on Oct. 24.
Now Thompson is fighting efforts to remove the girl from life support.
Kazlynn Thompson was among three children injured in the wreck near Miller Park.
The crash occurred when Benjamin Thompson drove a 2013 Nissan Altima east on Sorensen Parkway, ran a red light at 30th Street and crashed into a northbound 1997 Oldsmobile LSS sedan, police have said.
