The Top Five Reasons to look forward to the Next Four Years

I for one, am an unquenchable optimist. I can find a positive in the most negative of situations. So, I came up with a Letterman style of the top five reasons to look forward to the next four years.

5. Now, even the Right knows that we have the moral high ground. One fun thing we can do this Thanksgiving when confronted by our “Christian” relatives who voted for Trump; asked them how they plan to get their souls back.

4. The Trump administration will be the biggest collection of bumbling clowns the world has ever witnessed. Yeah, like all clowns, they’re scary but still; the entertainment they provide will be priceless.

3. We are now on the offence. And it’s a lot easier, and in many ways, a lot more fun to be on the offence than to be on the defense. Especially when the defendant is so blatantly indefensible.

2. There will be nothing more amusing than watching Trump supporters bending themselves into pretzels, trying to turn a sow’s ear into something even remotely acceptable.

1. The truth is; we are all in this together. What is damaging to one part of the country is damaging to all. In other words; they (the Trump supporters) are just as fucked as we are

Feel free to add your own reasons.

The sad reality is that some of our cohorts -- many who post here -- are only happy in their misery. They only know how to function as the oppressed.

You have some very clever comments/points.

I'm not ready yet for #4. It is too painful to be entertained. For me, relief comes from the moments of justice and actual help for people and this planet. But I understand your view. I do enjoy the late-nite political comedy, yet that is what helps lighten the pain.

When * took over in 2001 with that other electoral college win things didn't go too well for them at first either. I also never liked wash, rinse and repeat much myself so it just behoves us all to be on the watch for more of the shenanigans. I am sure they are going to try another similar type stunt like the MIHOP on 9/11. And oh yea, Greg Palast seems kind of a freaking genius to me for a second time today.

You either do politics or politics will be done to you

Those nitwits (the true supporters) are gloating right now and only at the point when they suffer, noticeably, will they even start to question that they have foolishly sold their souls. And then the only "answer" they will be able to muster will have guns and bombs involved... because thinking, aside form requiring effort, is bad.

I'm expecting the most corrupt administration since Grant. I would not be surprised to see Trump impeached and convicted on conflict of interest charges* if he keeps to his current practice on doing nothing that doesn't enrich himself of his kids.

*remember - Congress gets to decide what "high crimes and misdemeanors" are in impeachment cases.

If the rethugs have taken over our election apparatus, which I suspect they have, no amount of optimism will help. We're into third world/putin territory.
