Most troops optimistic about Trump, but 1 in 4 are worried

http://www.militarytimes.com/articles/military-times-poll-donald-trump-military-national-security?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Mil%20EBB%2011.18.16&utm_term=Editorial%20-%20Military%20-%20Early%20Bird%20Brief

51 percent is OVERWHELMING? "Most?" GMAFB!!!!!

Also, the "universe" of respondents to this poll is TIMES readers (USA, USAF, USN, USMC) and they tend to be "in the rear with the gear" -- they have an office job and read the office copy.

Despite overwhelming support for President-elect Donald Trump among active-duty troops, one in four service members worries he may issue orders that violate military rules or traditions, according to a new Military Times/Institute for Military and Veterans Families Poll.

The responses, collected just after Trump’s surprise election night victory, come amid uncertainty of what the one-time business mogul’s Pentagon will look like, who will lead his national security strategy and whether he can fulfill his promises to boost military spending in coming years.

The poll surveyed 2,790 active-duty troops. Among those who voted, 51 percent said they supported Trump. Many expressed optimism at his election, predicting a stronger military and better quality of life for service members.

I'll bet the buyer's remorse is settling in "bigly" right about now.

for veterans and active military members. I gave him a laundry list of things Obama did, with links. He didn't respond. I wonder how many military members think the same way.

he's in his mid '60's. He is not a Vietnam vet. He did most of his service state side, except for a 6 month tour at Gitmo. We don't talk politics much, but from the short conversations on the matter(s) he is fine with what Obama has done for the military and he is not a Trump fan.

Most uniformed personnel don't read the TIMES unless they're in an office job or trying to see who got promoted.

This isn't the real rank-n-file, here, or even the busy mid-grade zeros who have more responsibility than time to execute. This is the view of a subset of the well-fed, and the fact that they're fifty-fifty on the Trumpeteer tells me even the coddled think shit is gonna get real at some point in time.

Is NOT defending our "freedoms." Please give me my money back- all the tax dollars I've been paying to employ you, train you, give you and your family health care for life, house you, feed you. I want all that money back, because clearly you're incapable of doing your job of keeping the country secure

The commissioned officers appointed over them are not bound to obey the commander in chief. Their duty is to the CONSTITUTION of the United States--they are required to support, protect, and defend it.

And of course, you always obey your last order first!
