The definition of evil.

I still can't watch television, so I've been watching YouTube videos/movies. I ran across the tv movie from 2001, "Nuremburg", with Alex Baldwin. I hadn't seen it, and I thought it was very well done. There was a scene where a Jewish military psychologist (played by Matt Craven) was speaking to Alec Baldwin's character, the Chief Prosecutor, about the nature of evil. The psychologist said the struggled with the definition, and the best thing he could come up with is that evil is the absence of empathy. That hit me like a ton of bricks, because that is precisely what has infected our country and why I am having such a hard time with the aftermath of this election. Our incoming president is evil. The Republican party is evil. Half of my fellow citizens are evil.

And now that orange horror is lying about the Broadway cast of "Hamilton." It's intolerable already and that POS hasn't even been inaugurated yet. I'm so heartsick and heartbroken.
