On the advice of a friend (Lydia Leftcoast to be exact)

I've started watching Oliver Stone's "Untold History of the U.S." on Netflix. Only 3 episodes in, but I recommend it.

Just a warning, episode 2 is depressing. I never knew what a cluster* the 1944 Democratic convention was. Probably not the best episode to watch as it only left me more depressed and crabby than I've been lately as I wonder what different country and world we would have had if the PTB (or Powers that Were at the time) had not kept Henry Wallace off the ticket.

I second that recommendation. Be forewarned, he does criticize Obama a little, especially towards the end of the series.
