Rachel had on some old audio from the ugly openly-racist days

It's astounding how much they hated blacks and feared even being in the same room with them.

The amount of venom is unbelievable.

We're not out of it yet: I realize, but when you hear it spoken so plainly with so much anger and violence, it's terrifying.

Since you never hear that out loud, it's easy to forget that even now racism still makes people insane and irrational.

They're all getting cabinet seats in the 2017 west wing. So horrible just after the Obamas leave...

overt hatred, easily expressed at every opportunity, and I was often the target. I'll never forget that, ever. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that my final years will be much the same after thinking that it would end in my lifetime.

she told. This was one of her best shows. Genuinely frightening and appalling stuff.
