As much as I like my Cuban friends, I will never, ever denounce Castro. They can sell his mistreatment of people but every leader has blood on their hands, He was created, and revered for a reason. Reasons that I have never heard out of one Cuban celebrating today or on the news. They were whitening the country to keep the darker complexion Cubans in the minority & poor, with several implemented programs. One main one called "Blanqueamiento", where they invested millions to import white Europeans, giving them money, land & job opportunities owed to the people of Cuba. The ill-treatment of the lesser, poorer & darker complexion Cubans was the reason Castro acquired & maintained power. He took back from the rich who were stealing from the poor under Batista's dictatorship rule. Look up their history on how they treated Afro-Cubans before 1959. They can front all they want, but compared to some Presidents of the USA, Fidel is an amateur oppressor,
RIP FIDEL. Your methods might not have been the best way, but your intentions were righteous.

In fact those who supported Cuba's independence wars did not realize that the population was majority African slave and descendant in the fighting ranks.
They thought they were mostly white Spaniards so they figured we should help them.
Some of the most racist garbage spewed from the mouth of Roosevelt after he "won" the Spanish American war, it was the Cuban fighters many barefoot who really won that war. Of course the US just occupied Cuba after that ...
