I think that the demise of the mob was the worst thing to happen to Rudy Gulliani

I'm watching a series of mob documentaries on Nat Geo and Gulliani is featured, talking about his experiences. He seemed to have been in his element, prosecuting mobsters. And, as I recall, he was pretty good at it. But it probably also over fed his ego. His transition in to politics and out to the fringe of politics has just been messy and embarrassing.

That's the impression I'm forming. But then, maybe I've had too much Chardonnay.

1. Rudy has passed his "sell by" date. If he is in the mix, we're just asking to get poisoned.

2. Definitely, but this show is just 3 years old, and he looks/acts like a different person

He is focused, not acting all bug-eyed and crazy, he looks healthy, he's animated in a good way, telling stories and interesting anecdotes. It is really enjoyable to watch.

Same with Michael Chertoff, who is also featured on the show, although I think he hasn't gone quite as far around the twist, as Rudy.

As a side note, I lived in Philadelphia during the Philadelphia/New York City/Atlantic City mob war so watching this is a trip down memory lane, for me.

3. remember zell miller ?

I heard he turned bitter after not being picked for vp in 2000.

I guess it's a thing that happens . But it doesn't speak well of their character that they turn this way instead of doing good in some different position.
