Trump to Nominate Antigay, Antichoice Rep. Tom Price as HHS Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump’s no-good, very bad cabinet picks keep coming: He will nominate Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Price of Georgia, a major critic of the Affordable Care Act, for secretary of Health and Human Services, The Washington Post reports.

Price, an orthopedic surgeon, has represented a suburban Atlanta district in Congress since 2004. In addition to being an opponent of the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare, he has a string of zeroes on the Human Rights Campaign’s Congressional Scorecard for opposing LGBT rights. He called the Supreme Court’s 2015 marriage equality decision “a sad day for marriage.” He also is against abortion rights and opposes federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

If confirmed by the Senate, “Price would be responsible for a department with an annual budget of more than $1 trillion, health programs that insure more than 100 million Americans and agencies that regulate food and drugs and sponsor much of the nation’s biomedical research,” The New York Times reports.

since we are going to be stuck with them....

At least this one has suggested a replacement plan for the affordable care act, instead of just wanting to blindly repealing it and then figuring out what to do
